INEC Announces APGA’s Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the Anambra Governor Election Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared APGA candidate Professor Chukwum Soludo the winner of Saturday’s election for governor in Anambra state.

Returning to the polls, Calabar University Vice-Chancellor Professor Florence Obi announced the final result at approximately 1:50 am Wednesday, Obi announces result, adding the figures obtained by each political party in Tuesday’s supplemental polls to the state’s 20 local government districts already announced Sunday.

She announced the votes cast by political parties as follows: APC, 43,285, APGA, 112, 229, PDP, 53,807, and others, it also announced the total number of valid votes cast in the election: 241,523 votes, with 8,108 rejected votes, while the total number of votes cast in the election was 249,631.

Obi stated, “This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. I want to take this opportunity to thank the INEC chairman and his team for this opportunity for me and my university to participate in this Anambra 2021. I thank the service leaders, the people of Anambra state, we remain very grateful.

“Let me read this EC8E form that I have completed. I, Professor Florence Bank Obi, hereby certify that I am again in the election of Governor of Anambra on November 6 and 9, Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, who confirmed the requirements of the law, has been declared the winner of the election,” Obi said.

Former APGA chairman Senator Victor Ume responded to the victory by saying the election was transparent and the best election in the state to date.

“We won the state again, despite the fact that some boasted that they would win the state. That should tell them that the APGA is in place, and it’s not just bragging rights, but a good job of homework. I urge them to concede victory to our party and the candidate because the people have made a clear choice. “
