The Texarkana Police Department said Sunday that a shooting at a Halloween party in Texarkana, Texas, killed one person and injured nine others.
Officers reacted to reports of gunfire at the Octavia Event Center in the 2300 block of Texas Boulevard shortly before midnight and “encountered a large number of people running out of the building and several inside suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Texarkana Police Department said in a statement Texarkana is located about 180 miles east of Dalla Police said there were several hundred people at the scene during the shooting.

The victims were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center and Christus St. Michael’s Hospital, police said.
One 20-year-old man died shortly after being admitted to the hospital, police said in a statement. His name is not released until the family is notified.
Police said the injuries of the other nine victims were not life-threatening.
