Governor candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Charles Soludo won 10 of the 11 local government areas officially announced by the INEC election commission at its headquarters in Anambra.
Mr. Soludo defeated all other 17 candidates in each of the 10 local governments. However, Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) won in the local government area in the north of Nnewi.
The 11 local governments are the ones that have been announced and officially adopted at the INEC State Sorting Center in Awka, the capital of Anambra State the final announcement is expected to continue later Sunday afternoon.
In addition to the 11 local government territories announced at the INEC secretariat, Mr. Soludo also won some other local governments, the results of which have been announced at the local government but have not yet been announced at the INEC secretariat in Awka.
The 11 local governments currently announced in the INEC secretariat are Orumba, Nnewi Sever, Njikoka, Onitsha Sever, Idemili, Ayamelum, Anambra Vostok, Aniocha, Oyi, Awka Yug, and Dunukofia. Of the 11, Mr. Soludo lost only at Nnewi North the governor elections were held in all 21 local government districts of Anambra.
